How do I report someone that’s pretending to be me or someone else in Messenger?

Accounts that pretend to be you or someone else aren't allowed in Messenger. If you see an account that's pretending to be you, someone you know, or a public figure (for example: celebrity or politician), you can let us know.

Android:

  1. From Chats, open the conversation and tap the person's name at the top.
  2. Scroll down and tap Something's Wrong.
  3. Select Pretending to Be Someone as your category.
  4. Select who they are pretending to be, and tap Send Feedback.
  5. Tap Report Conversation > Report entire conversation to send the conversation to us for review.
iPhone/iPad:

  1. From Chats, open the conversation and tap the person's name at the top.
  2. Scroll down and tap Something's Wrong.
  3. Select Pretending to Be Someone as your category.
  4. Select who they are pretending to be, and tap Send Feedback.
  5. Tap Report Conversation > Report Conversation to send the conversation to us for review.
