When you create a Facebook account, Facebook appears in the same language as the one you choose in your device's language settings. We also match how we show dates, time and numbers to your language region.
You can change your language and region settings to see things such as buttons, notifications, most text and tooltips in a different language and format.
Note: Region settings are only available on your computer at this time.
Change your language and region settings
- Go to your Settings.
- Click Language and region in the column on the left-hand side. From here, you can:
- Change the language that you see on Facebook. Bear in mind that when you change your language, your region settings (such as date, time and numbers) automatically update to match your region format.
- Click Edit next to Facebook language and select a language.
- Click Save Changes.
- Change how dates, time and numbers are shown on Facebook. Bear in mind that this won't change the language.
- Click Edit next to Formats for dates, times and numbers, and select a region.
- Click Save Changes.
- Change the temperature to Fahrenheit or Celsius.
- Click Temperature and select a temperature.
- Click Save Changes.
- Change the language that you see on Facebook. Bear in mind that when you change your language, your region settings (such as date, time and numbers) automatically update to match your region format.
Bear in mind
- Changing the language settings for your Facebook account won't change your computer, phone or tablet's settings.
- If you change your Facebook language settings on one device, it won't change the settings on another device. For example, if you change your Facebook language settings on your computer, you'll also have to update your Facebook language settings on your phone.
Change other language settings
You can change other Feed language settings, such as:
- Changing the language that you'd like to have posts translated into.
- Turning off translations for posts in other languages.
- Updating whether posts in a different language are automatically translated.
