Send a message on Facebook

This is about using messages on Facebook. For help with the Messenger app or messenger.com, visit the Messenger Help Center.
To send a direct message on Facebook on a computer:
  1. From , click Messenger in the left menu.
  2. Click to start a new message.
  3. Start typing a name into the To field. Names of friends will appear.
  4. Select the person or people you want to message.
  5. Type your message, then press enter or to send.
You can also click Message at the top of someone’s profile to message them.
